A beginner-guide platform rebuilt end to end with AI
How to start turns the first steps of a hobby or side hustle into practical guides. We replaced its aging stack with a static platform and built an AI-native workflow spanning design, development, content, imagery, and translation.
Challenge
The original Gatsby, Bootstrap, Strapi, database, and Firebase stack proved the idea but made a small publication expensive to maintain. Content remained coupled to infrastructure, and expanding the catalogue repeated too much manual work. The rewrite had to simplify the technology and scale useful content without becoming a stream of unchecked AI output.

Solution
AI throughout the product, not bolted on afterward
AI drove the full production process. Claude created the visual direction and supports structured translation. Codex turned the design into an Astro 5 and Tailwind CSS 4 application, built the content architecture, and generates article drafts. Typed MDX schemas, a validated 257-topic backlog, repeatable guide structures, source and link checks, image rules, automated validation, and human approval keep outputs predictable. Every guide receives original artwork and a review for practical safety, accessible language, and working resources.
Less infrastructure, more room to publish
The new site generates plain static files and needs no CMS, database, or application server at runtime. Its launch collection includes 23 guides across seven hobby and side-hustle categories, with search by topic, budget, time, and setting. The result is both a finished publication and a repeatable AI content system: faster to operate, easier to review, and ready to grow without rebuilding the platform around every new article.
